On Sunday 7 March 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 140 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 662 fatalities (five new deaths since Saturday) resulting from the virus to date.
140 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Sunday from a total of 7,841 tests carried out the day before, representing 22.36 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.79%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 173.29. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 111 people are in hospital with the virus, including 21 patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Thursday 4 March 2021, there are currently 2,982 active infections known, whilst a total of 52,662 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.95.
As of Thursday, a total of 44,171 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 1,322 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 731 received their second dose on Thursday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
