On Wednesday 3 March 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 267 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 643 fatalities (two new deaths since Tuesday) resulting from the virus to date.

267 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Wednesday from a total of 11,885 tests carried out the day before, representing 42.64 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.25%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases. 

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 175.43. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.

A total of 104 people are in hospital with the virus, including 20 patients in intensive care. 

As per figures from Tuesday 2 March 2021, there are currently 3,074 active infections known, whilst a total of 52,185 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 0.98.

As of Tuesday, a total of 40,460 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 817 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 525 received their second dose on Tuesday.
