On Thursday 18 February 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 233 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 619 fatalities (three new deaths since Wednesday) resulting from the virus to date.
233 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Thursday from a total of 10,243 tests carried out the day before, representing 37.21 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.21%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 167.14. The lowest (since the most recent wave started mid-October) was 113.00 on 19 January.
A total of 74 people are in hospital with the virus, including seventeen patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Wednesday 17 February 2021, there are currently 2,745 active infections known, whilst a total of 50,198 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.0.
As of Wednesday, a total of 27,119 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 983 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 218 received their second dose on Wednesday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
