On Friday 5 February 2021, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 181 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 590 fatalities (two new deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.
181 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 10,452 tests carried out the day before, representing 28.91 people per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 1.73%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 159.71.
A total of 57 people are in hospital with the virus, including eleven patients in intensive care.
As per figures from Thursday 4 February 2021, there are currently 2,501 active infections known, whilst a total of 48,421 people have recovered from the virus to date. The effective reproductive rate in Luxembourg stands at 1.10.
As of Thursday, a total of 16,419 vaccinations had been carried out in Luxembourg; 659 individuals received their first dose of the vaccine and 353 received their second dose on Thursday.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
