On Tuesday 22 December 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 227 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 453 fatalities (three more deaths since Monday) resulting from the virus to date.
227 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Tuesday from a total of 10,503 tests carried out the day before, representing 36.26 per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 2.16%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
193 people are in hospital with the virus, including 39 patients in intensive care. There are 7,135 active infections known, whilst a total of 37,221 people have recovered from the virus to date.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) is currently 365.57.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg stands at 0.88.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
