On Wednesday 16 December 2020, the first of four vaccination centres to open in Luxembourg held a simulation exercise.

As part of the management of the pandemic and in the context of the vaccination strategy to fight COVID-19, vaccination centres will be opened in the four regions of the Grand Duchy. The first of these centres to open its doors will be located at Halle Victor Hugo in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg.

During the past few weeks, the logistical, technical and IT development of the vaccination centre was at the heart of concerns. In order to be able to assess the various processes put in place, the High Commission for National Protection (Haut-commissariat à la Protection nationale - HCPN) organised a simulation exercise on Wednesday.

Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Minister of Health Paulette Lenert, accompanied by the Mayor of the City of Luxembourg, Lydie Polfer, and the First Alderman of the City of Luxembourg, Serge Wilmes, were present for a debriefing on the progress of the exercise. They thanked the teams and volunteers for their work and commitment over the past weeks.
