On Friday 11 December 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 506 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 392 fatalities (eight more deaths since Thursday) resulting from the virus to date.

506 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Friday from a total of 12,696 tests carried out the day before, representing 80.82 per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 3.99%. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.

217 people are in hospital with the virus, including 47 patients in intensive care. As at Thursday 10 December 2020, there were 8,685 active infections known, whilst a total of 31,678 people have recovered from the virus to date.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases remains unknown, as the figures for Wednesday 9 December have yet to be published. Earlier in the week, the Ministry of Health reported that the unavailability of daily reports and detailed statistical data was due to technical issues.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg stands at 1.03.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
