On Sunday 6 December 2020, Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 531new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections; there have been 353 fatalities (three more deaths since Saturday) resulting from the virus to date.
531 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Sunday from a total of 11,865 tests carried out the day before, representing 84.81 per 100,000 inhabitants. The positivity rate was 4.48. Wednesday 18 November 2020 marked the record daily high of 891 new cases.
The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 524.71; the record of 678.57 was set on 3 November 2020.
190 people are in hospital with the virus, including 40 patients in intensive care. As at Thursday 3 December, there were 8,643 active infections known, whilst a total of 28,029 people have recovered from the virus to date.
The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg stands at 0.91.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
