Luxembourg's Ministry of Health reported 124 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) infections over the weekend; there have been 124 fatalities (no change since 17 August) resulting from the virus to date.

78 Luxembourg residents tested positive on Saturday from a total of 6,057 tests carried out the day before, with a further 46 having tested positive on Sunday from 5,294 tests carried out the previous day.

The average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 64.43. 

As of Sunday 27 September 2020, nineteen people were in hospital with the virus, including one patient in intensive care.

As of Friday 25 September 2020, there were 1,133 active infections known, whilst a total of 6,976 people had recovered from the virus.

The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 0.95.

Since 24 August 2020, the Ministry of Health's published figures only include resident infection numbers, as opposed to earlier figures which included both residents and non-residents (i.e. cross-border workers).
