The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 4,719 (up 69 from Wednesday), including 110 fatalities (unchanged) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Thursday 9 July 2020.

While there have been no COVID-19 fatalities in Luxembourg since 24 May, the average daily increase (over a 7-day period) in cases is now 46.29 since restrictions have started to be eased.

Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 3,854 are residents and 865 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 44, with the ratio of men to women being 52.02% / 47.98%, while both the median and average age of the victims who lost their lives to the virus is 84. The rate of positive tests stands at 0.77%.

The number of people currently hospitalised with COVID-19 is 27, with two patients in intensive care. 966 individuals have been discharged from hospital (including certain short-term stays).

Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out 255,709 tests including 203,261 on residents and 52,448 on non-residents; currently there are 532 people known to be infected while 4,077 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. The effective reproductive number in Luxembourg is currently 1.17.
