The number of people having tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) in Luxembourg stands at 3,824 (up twelve from Saturday), including 96 fatalities (up four) resulting from the virus, as of early evening on Sunday 3 May 2020.
Of those people having tested positive for coronavirus to date, 3,097 are residents and 727 are non-residents. The average age of those testing positive is 46, with the ratio of men to women being 51.1% / 48.9%, while the median age of the victims (excluding one patient from the Grand Est) who lost their lives to the virus is 85 (average age: 84). 115 people remain hospitalised at present in relation to COVID-19, including 22 patients (excluding those transferred from the Grand Est) in intensive care. Nevertheless, 850 have been discharged from hospital.
Since the beginning of the crisis, Luxembourg has carried out a total of 48,118 tests (37,693 on residents, 10,425 on non-residents); currently there are 349 people known to be infected and 3,379 have reportedly recovered from COVID-19. From mid-May, Luxembourg's authorities plan to ramp up testing to 20,000 tests per day in an effort to test the entire population within one month.
