After a digital edition in 2020, the Gala Marketers, organised since 2009 by the marketing and communications agency Farvest, made a comeback in physical format with an awards ceremony that brought together 300 people.
The sold-out event, which took place at Melusina on 18 November 2021, brought together professionals from the marketing, communications and events sector.
“'Gala Marketers rises' is the title of this year's edition because it is not just the physical return of the Gala Marketers but also an opportunity to bring together representatives of the sector to achieve what the event was created for: to bring together, facilitate the meeting of professionals in this sector, discuss best practices and trends that are revolutionising marketing, communication, events and unite stakeholders around the most beautiful achievements that the country has seen over the past year", explained Charlotte Boutelier and Margaux Vetzel, Managing Directors at Farvest.
The ceremony opened with the Best Design & Graphic Art of the Year award, won by the Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg in collaboration with the Binsfeld communication agency for their new graphic charter, which is now used by various theatres in the capital.
AXA Luxembourg then received the Best Event of the Year award for the escape game that the teams had created in collaboration with 216k Escape room on the occasion of their presence at the HOME Fair.
The Best UI / UX Design of the Year award went to Cocottes for the redesign of its equally aesthetic and functional site based on customer feedback to offer a complete experience.
Luxair received the Best Brand of the Year award, a prize which highlights a brand with a strong identity in Luxembourg. The airline had highlighted this through a striking campaign with the hashtag #FlyingIsAnArt and its customisation of a Boeing 737 by renowned local street artist Sumo.
The Luxair teams returned to the stage a few minutes later to receive the Best MarCom Strategy of the Year award for the campaign linked to their collaboration with Sumo and the various channels used to promote it as well as the Best MarCom Project of the Year on an initiative carried out to promote the inclusion and diversity of profiles recruited for a “Work as you are” project.
Sophie Ensel, on behalf of her graphic design agency So Graphiste, then took the stage to receive the Best Agency of the Year award for the diversity of client projects presented and the highlighting of their testimonials reflecting an inspiring, innovative and attentive agency.
The ceremony ended with the flagship individual awards of Young Marcom Manager of the Year and MarCom Manager of the Year, presented by Olivier Laidebeur on behalf of the event's traditional partner, Office Freylinger. Stéphanie Schleich, Marketing and Communication Manager of Cocottes, and Vincenzo Manzella, Marketing Director of Luxair, were the top winners at this ceremony. Ms Schleich was awarded for her several graphic identity declination projects on behalf of products sold by Cocottes as well as her professionalism and original ideas. Mr Manzella received recognition for the work accomplished by his teams at Luxair at a critical time for the aviation sector, his internal contribution to changes, his communication and his commitment both to his teams and to his projects.
This 12th edition of the Gala Marketers ended with music by DJs Julien Lion and SO House.
