ALIA, the Luxembourg Independent Media Authority, has called for the withdrawal of the licence for the television programme "Libido".

In May 2021, the board of directors of ALIA sanctioned Groupe 555 SARL for "manifestly, gravely and seriously" violating article 21 paragraph 1 of the amended law of 27 July 1991 on electronic media by broadcasting the Libido programme without being in possession of a valid licence. ALIA specified that the licence had expired and had not been renewed.

During a check carried out at the beginning of October 2021, ALIA noted that the Libido programme was still being distributed without the authority being aware of the issuance of a new licence.

At its meeting of 4 October, the board of directors thus decided to refer the matter to Luxembourg's Minister for Communications and Media, Xavier Bettel, to propose the withdrawal of the licence granted for the Libido programme.
