On Friday, management representatives at Dupont de Nemours in Contern informed employee representatives of the merger between Dow Chemical and DuPont de Nemours and the consequences this will have for the Contern site.
They also confirmed that the company will continue its worldwide restructuring and cost reductions programme that will result in the reduction of 30 to 40 positions in Luxembourg during the first half of 2016.
The OGB-L trade union stated that it will use all available means (employment retention plan, early retirement, etc.) to avoid job losses.
A meeting with the relevant authorities is already scheduled for early January. A calendar of regular meetings between unions and management has been retained.
