On Thursday 17 September 2026, Luxembourg’s Ministry of Finance reported that Minister of Finance Gilles Roth had travelled to Frankfurt as part of a financial mission, accompanied by Luxembourg for Finance.

According to the ministry, at the roadshow organised by the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), Minister Roth highlighted the strength of relations between Luxembourg and Germany. He stressed that “constant dialogue with representatives of the investment fund industry is essential to strengthen our financial centre and adapt it to the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow.”

Minister Roth continued: “The complementarity between Frankfurt and Luxembourg, two major European financial centres, represents a model of a European Union that works: it combines Germany’s extensive expertise in asset management with Luxembourg’s unparalleled reach in cross-border fund distribution.”

The ministry also noted that, on the sidelines of the event, Minister Roth met with executives from several German asset managers to discuss the outlook for the financial sector and the development of their activities in Luxembourg.
