On Tuesday 18 August 2026, the Grand Ducal Police reported several arrests in Luxembourg-Ville following incidents involving driving without a valid licence, suspected drug dealing and an altercation involving knives.

On Monday 17 August 2026 at around 15:43, police were informed during a customs check on Avenue Pasteur in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg of a motorist driving without a valid driving licence. Officers subsequently found that the driver was already subject to a driving ban until 2029.

On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the suspect was arrested and the vehicle was seized.

Shortly afterwards, at around 16:10, police checked two men in front of Luxembourg central station on suspicion that they had previously carried out a drug deal. During a search, officers found a total of three small bags containing drugs.

On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, the drugs were seized and the suspected dealer was arrested.

Later that evening, at around 21:20, a police patrol at Luxembourg central station was approached by an injured person with a heavily bleeding wound to the hand. According to initial information, the person had shortly before been attacked by two men and injured in the hand with a knife. The two suspects reportedly fled towards Avenue de la Liberté.

Police located one of the suspects there shortly afterwards. The second suspect, who had been described to officers as having one leg and using crutches, was later found on Rue du Fort Neipperg. According to police, he was holding a knife when officers arrived and dropped it when instructed to do so.

Both suspects were taken to the police station for further procedures. During subsequent searches, officers found an additional knife on each of them.

On the orders of the Public Prosecutor's Office, both suspects were arrested and were due to appear before an investigating judge.
