The Grand Ducal Police have reported that during a large scale inspection by police officers in the Luxembourg-Gare area and Bonnevoie on Wednesday 22 July 2026, multiple business violations were discovered including a lack of authorisation and illegal employment.
According to the initial information, at midday on Wednesday, the police, together with the Customs and Excise Agency and the Anti-Fraud VAT department of the Registration, Estates and VAT Authority (AED), carried out a large-scale inspection in Luxembourg’s train station district and in Bonnevoie.
A total of twelve police officers took part in the inspection, during which two business premises were inspected, where it was found that they did not have the required business authorisation. Cash holdings were also seized from the premises and, in addition, 50 kg of expired food products were identified and disposed of.
During the inspections, two people were also found who were not legally employed there.
The police noted that an official report was drawn up and the competent authorities will initiate the further measures.
