On Tuesday 3 November 2026, Luxembourg's national railway company (CFL) announced that train services between Luxembourg and Thionville are gradually returning to normal following disruptions on Monday 2 November 2026.
Late on Monday, CFL reported that a technical problem affecting the railway tracks near Hettange-Grande in France had interrupted train services in both directions on the Luxembourg - Thionville - Metz line.
During the disruption, CFL provided replacement buses between Luxembourg and Thionville in both directions via Bettembourg.
According to the railway company, maintenance teams worked to fix the technical problem, jet CFL initially could not estimate how long the disruption would last.
Train services are now gradually resuming, although passengers may still experience delays and cancellations.
