Luxembourg's National Youth Service (Service national de la jeunesse - SNJ) has announced a wide range of holiday camps and activities for children and young people taking place in August and September 2026, with places still available for several programmes.

According to the SNJ, the summer and back-to-school programme offers opportunities for discovery, creativity, sport and social interaction through holiday camps and other activities in Luxembourg and abroad.

The holiday camps are organised by the SNJ, notably in cooperation with the non-profit organisation Groupe Animateur. According to the SNJ, participants are supervised by qualified and experienced youth leaders and enjoy stays combining "adventure, discovery, learning and communal living."

Nearly 850 children and young people will participate in eighteen holiday camps this summer. Places are still available for four camps:

  • Zirkus Schmaus, a circus arts camp taking place from 14 to 19 August 2026 for young people aged thirteen to sixteen;
  • Erliefniskolonie, an adventure camp running from 19 to 29 August 2026 for children aged nine to thirteen;
  • Horizont – ouni Grenzen, a language camp taking place from 31 August to 6 September 2026 for young people aged thirteen to sixteen;
  • Lëlz Move, a sports camp running from 3 to 9 September 2026 for young people aged thirteen to sixteen.

Further information and registration details are available at www.colonies.lu.

Beyond its holiday camps, the SNJ is also offering several additional activities with places still available.

The StudioStar project will take place in Belgium from 30 August to 5 September 2026, bringing together young people aged sixteen to 26 under the theme "Express your voice – Discover human rights through artistic workshops". Through workshops in music, screen printing, performance art and creative writing, participants will explore human rights through artistic expression. Supported by the Erasmus+ programme, the international exchange is fully funded.

The SNJ added that ArtBreak – Summer Edition, taking place from 7 to 9 September 2026, is aimed at young people aged fourteen to 26 interested in exploring human rights through creative and sound experimentation. Registration is open until 31 August.

The organisation also highlighted its move.snj.lu platform, which offers young people aged eight to 23 a wide range of sports activities organised throughout Luxembourg during the school holidays. Online registration is currently open.
