On Friday 21 May 2021, Meliá Hotels International opened a new hotel, INNSiDE Luxembourg, and its attached restaurant, "de Gaart" ("the garden"), in Luxembourg City's Cloche d'Or shopping district.

“INNSiDE Luxembourg has a very strong style that combines design, technology, a relaxed vibe and sustainability”, explained René Grosbusch, owner of INNSiDE Luxembourg, during the opening ceremony.

The exterior of the building is clad with matt black aluminium panels and is decorated with a pattern made up of numerous illuminated discs. All along the main external walls, large windows flood the modern, urban and elegant interior with light and offer a glimpse in from the outside. The hotel also has an underground car park with a total of 36 parking spaces.

Across its four floors, there are 123 bedrooms, split into three different categories. The 110 INNSiDE ROOMs have floor space of 21 m2, and boast a king size bed and a TV with built-in Chromecast. The four 32-m2 STUDIOs include everything the INNSiDE ROOMs have, as well as a desk, a sofa and a yoga mat for guests’ use. Lastly, the nine TOWNHOUSEs have an expansive 42 m2 of floorspace and are located on the very top floor of the hotel. Most of them have a terrace and offer panoramic views of the surrounding area. Among other amenities, these rooms include an area with sofa-bed and library, a selection of video games and an iron.

All rooms are equipped with free, high-speed wifi and organic bathroom products. As sustainability is at the heart of what INNSiDE by Meliá is about, no single-use paper or plastic is ever used in the bedrooms.

Rogier Van Zanten, General Manager of INNSiDE Luxembourg, commented: “We are focused on our guests’ comfort, of course, but also on their safety – now more so than ever. That is why INNSiDE Luxembourg will, as part of Meliá Hotels International, be Implementing the ‘Stay Safe with Meliá’ programme throughout the hotel, so as to ensure that our guests and staff are safe”.

The INNSiDE Luxembourg building also houses a restaurant: de Gaart. The restaurant is designed in the spirit of the community gardens of Luxembourg City, which offer city dwellers with no private land a shared space in which to plant their flowers, fruit, vegetables and herbs. The inspiration for de Gaart is the idea of sharing with its guests the best fresh, regional produce from the huge variety of gardens and farms to be found all over Luxembourg.

The restaurant's decor has been designed in the spirit of a New York loft apartment, with a mixture of oak, black metal, concrete walls, pictures by local artists and large ceiling lights. With a capacity of 109 covers and an area dedicated to live cooking, de Gaart will offer lunch and evening menus inspired by regional produce, including vegan and gluten-free options, but will also offer guests energising antioxidant juices to be sipped as soon as they wake up.

INNSiDE Luxembourg has worked together with local entrepreneurs, startups and producers such as Fairtrade Lëtzebuerg to create the "Retail Corner", offering carefully selected environmentally friendly and sustainable products.

The Retail Corner is in line with the commitment of the Meliá Hotels International group, not just to promoting local cultures and communities by showcasing their products, among other things, but also to working towards a sustainable future that respects social realities and local environments.

René Grosbusch added: "The values promoted by the hotel are perfectly in line with those of Luxembourg. INNSiDE places great importance on sustainability, sharing and making new discoveries to highlight local culture, products, initiatives and communities".

To round off its offering, the hotel has several meeting rooms that can be fitted out in a variety of different ways, as well as a 24-hour gym, fitted with Technogym equipment and with a personal trainer available. The gym is also equipped with the 24-hour Wexer Virtual Fitness smart training system, which simply and intuitively allows guests to put together a personalised programme and to choose music to suit their mood and goals.

Although the Cloche d’Or district has excellent public transport links and despite the hotel having its own underground car park, bicycles are available for hire to guests.

Rogier Van Zanten concluded: "INNSiDE is a unique hotel in Luxembourg. We aim to combine professional and personal life, work and pleasure, without forgetting the comfort of our guests as well as the creativity, flexibility and quality services for which the INNSiDE brand is known".
