Luxembourg's Ministry of Culture has announced that it is to promote books and reading with a new initiative entitled "Are You Reading Luxembourg?"

With the cancellation of fairs, literary markets and the traditional Luxembourg rendezvous for Walfer Bicherdeeg (the Walferdange Bookfair), it is impossible to maintain book launches, meetings and readings. Like many other sectors, the book and publishing industry is suffering from the consequences of the pandemic. At the same time, reading and the pleasure of reading should in no way be called into question in these challenging times.

In order to contribute to the visibility of Luxembourg books and literature - with 80 new publications between March and the end of November 2020 - and to celebrate the Luxembourg literary re-entry, Reading Luxembourg has launched a promotional campaign for two weeks by involving numerous partners, stakeholders in the book industry, under the banner "Are You Reading Luxembourg?"

Do people in Luxembourg (still) read? And do they know the works of Luxembourg authors and / or publishers? In order to challenge and raise awareness of these questions, the campaign has been announced - see www.readingluxembourg.lu/en.
