Luxembourg publisher Editions Schortgen in Schouweiler has launched a new book, available in three languages (FR, DE, EN) entitled "Luxembourg - Land of Roses".

"Luxembourg - Land of Roses" was written by Heidi Howcroft and Marianne Majerus with the support of Patrimoine roses pour le Luxembourg ASBL (http://www.patrimoine-roses.lu) and the sponsorship of the Banque de Luxembourg.

Roses and rose gardens are one of the Grand Duchy's best kept secrets but it was not always so. For over a hundred years until World War II, Luxembourg rose growers bred over 400 varieties and shipped millions of the finest roses around the world. Renewed interest amongst rose lovers has led to a revival of this heritage. Old varieties have been rediscovered and new gardens created.

This book introduces you to the fascinating story of Luxembourg roses. Author Heidi Howcroft has worked with internationally renowned Luxembourg garden photographer Marianne Majerus to document this important contribution to the horticultural world. Learn how rose enthusiasts are protecting and promoting roses and immerse yourself in the over 200 fantastic images by the multi-award-winning photographer. Be inspired by public rose gardens, contemporary rose collections and twelve charming private gardens, and bring the world of Luxembourg roses into your garden.

"Luxembourg - Land of Roses" (hardback) costs €39 (VAT included; free delivery within Luxembourg; delivery 2-4 days) and is available from 28 October 2020, from the publisher. To order online, see https://editions-schortgen.lu/en/buch/luxembourg-land-of-roses-heidi-howcroft-marianne-majerus/
