On Friday 12 December 2025, Amazon announced that its leadership team and the staff delegation in Luxembourg have reached an agreement on a social plan affecting 370 employees.

The agreement follows two weeks of discussions. A joint statement issued to employees in Luxembourg explained that a "collaborative approach" has allowed the company's leadership team and the staff delegation to reduce the estimated number of impacted roles to 370 (earlier reports had suggested up to 470), through adjustments that "reflect business needs and local strategies".

For employees covered by the social plan, the leadership team and the staff delegation have agreed on "a comprehensive package that goes well beyond industry benchmarks and comparable local agreements in Luxembourg".

Amazon said its immediate focus would be on implementing the agreed measures and supporting impacted employees throughout the transition. In line with timelines suggested by the staff delegation, Amazon will begin contacting affected staff in early February 2026.

The company emphasised its commitment to handling the implementation of the plan "with care, clarity and in full compliance with the local employment law." The statement added that employees and their families have access to the Amazon Employee Assistance Program (EAP) 24/7 for support during the transition; they may also contact their manager, members of the leadership team or the staff delegation for support.

An Amazon spokesperson noted that the company would be providing no further comment at this time.
