According to Luxembourg's employment agency (Agence pour le développement de l'emploi - ADEM), the number of available resident jobseekers registered with ADEM stood at 14,669 as of 31 October 2022.

Compared to October 2021, this represents a decrease of 748 people or 4.9%. The unemployment rate, adjusted for seasonal variations, calculated by STATEC, is 4.9%, identical to last month.

The number of jobseekers is down for jobseekers whose registration period is more than six months (down 19.7% for registration periods of twelve months and over).

The number of new registrations is on the rise again. Indeed, 2,797 residents registered with ADEM during the month of October 2022, an increase of 325 people or 13.1% compared to October 2021. New registrations last month included 124 registrations from beneficiaries of temporary protection (i.e. refugees from Ukraine).

The number of resident job seekers receiving full unemployment benefit fell by 648 people or 8.4% over one year, to 7,077. The number of beneficiaries of an employment measure stood at 4,235 and is below the level observed in October 2021 (down 233 people, or down 5.2%).

During the month of October 2022, employers declared 3,284 vacant positions to ADEM, which corresponds to a drop of 16% compared to October 2021. The number of available positions stood at 13,033 as of 31 October 2022. The increase over one year is 17.7%.
