Arendt & Medernach, a leading independent business law firm in Luxembourg, has announced the appointment of two new partners: Lynn Alzin and Emmanuelle Mousel have joined the banking law, capital market and insurance law teams.
These appointments form part of the firm's mission to continue strengthening strategic areas, enabling it to provide its clients with comprehensive advice on all aspects of their projects.
Lynn Alzin is a Partner in the Bank Lending & Structured Finance and Capital Markets departments of Arendt & Medernach. She assists banks, investment firms and other professionals in the financial sector, payment service providers, as well as companies on all types of financing transactions. She also advises her clients on setting up regulated and non-regulated securitization vehicles, as well as issuing debt instruments. Ms Alzin has contributed to the strong growth of these departments. Her intention is to develop the entire financing, capital market and securitization sector, both nationally and internationally; with a certain predilection for the development of the fund financing market.
"The fund financing market is recent but very promising. It is developing alongside the unregulated fund market in Luxembourg, which has grown steadily since special limited partnerships were introduced in Luxembourg. We have also seen an appetite for this type of financing by Luxembourg banks. The objective is to make the Luxembourg market an essential market for fund financing, to make Luxembourg law a reference law in this area and Arendt the reference firm for this type of financing both on the lender side and on the borrower", explained Lynn Alzin.
Emmanuelle Mousel is a Partner in the Banking & Financial Services and Insurance & Reinsurance Law departments of Arendt & Medernach. She advises banks, investment firms and other professionals of the financial sector, payment service providers, as well as insurance and reinsurance companies, professionals and intermediaries, on questions of regulatory, civil, commercial and insolvency law matters. Ms Mousel also assists players in the financial and insurance sectors in litigation before courts and tribunals and in the context of criminal and regulatory investigations. She aims to strengthen the global and transversal expertise of banking and insurance law, with particular emphasis on financial litigation.
"The complexity of the regulatory framework in which players in the financial and insurance sectors operate is constantly growing, and so is the risk of litigation associated with it. Our clients therefore expect cross-cutting advice, combining both an understanding of all applicable rules and a strategic analysis of their litigation potential and reality. I am delighted to come and strengthen the firm's skills in these areas, which are absolutely complementary", commented Emmanuelle Mousel.
Jean-Marc Ueberecken, Managing Partner, added: "Arendt is strengthening its offer in response to regulatory developments and customer needs. Experts in their rapidly expanding fields, our two new Partners can count on the support of all of Arendt's expertise and their complementarity. Lynn and Emmanuelle have the ambition required to meet today's challenges and obtain the best results for their clients".
