Alain Reuter has been named the next President of Luxembourg's National Pension Insurance Fund (Caisse nationale d'assurance pension - CNAP).

On the proposal of Luxembourg's Minister of Social Security, Romain Schneider, the Council of the government decided on 13 November 2020 to propose to His Royal Highness the Grand Duke the appointment of Alain Reuter as President of the CNAP. He will also assume the presidency of the FDC pension fund. On 25 December 2020, Alain Reuter will succeed Fernand Lepage, who has asserted his retirement rights.

Alain Reuter currently occupies the post of first executive adviser of the Joint Social Security Centre (Centre commun de la sécurité sociale - CCSS). Born in Luxembourg in 1973, he joined the CCSS in 2007 as head of the methodology department, before taking up his current position in January 2012. Before joining the public sector, Mr Reuter held positions as advisor-analyst at Lawson Software in Oxford. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Imperial College London and a Masters in Mathematics from the University of East Anglia in Norwich (UK).

Minister Romain Schneider thanked Fernand Lepage for his dedication as President of the CNAP and the FDC and for his commitment throughout his career to the field of social security in Luxembourg.
