Michèle Bram, named board member of the Institut luxembourgeois de régulation (ILR), took office on 2 May 2016.
Named a board member by Grand Ducal decree of 8 February 2016, Ms. Bram replaces Jacques Prost who has been a board member since 1 August 1997 and who will be retiring on 30 September 2016.
A Luxembourg national, Michèle Bram began her career in 1986 as a lawyer at the Court before joining the Media and Communication Service in 1992, a service attached to the Ministry of State. She was in charge of filed relating to data protection, media and cybersecurity. She holds a Masters in Business Law and a postgraduate diploma in law from the IAE de Paris - Sorbonne Graduate Business School.
The mission of the ILR is to ensure and supervise, in the interest of the consumer, the functioning of markets based on an effective and sustainable competition, whilst ensuring a basic universal service. The ILR is an independent authority responsible for the regulation of electronic communications networks and services, transportation and the distribution of electricity and gas, postal services, rail transport and airport charges. The ILR also ensures the management and coordination of radio spectrum.
