The Neumünster Abbey Cultural Exchange Centre (neimënster) has announced two upcoming Forward jazz concerts.

These performances by Emma-Jean Thackray, on Thursday 28 April at 20:00, and Hidden Orchestra, on Thursday 19 May 2022 at 20:00, bring about a form of jazz with new musical horizons.

Bandleader, multi-instrumentalist and producer, Emma-Jean Thackray was born and raised in Yorkshire but is now a resident of Catford, south-east London. Her 2020 EPs Um Yang 음 양 and Rain Dance marked out as standard-bearer of a spiritually minded, dancefloor-angled take on jazz that is slightly removed from the broader UK music scene.

Tickets cost €15 (reduced: €9) or €1.50 with a Kulturpass and can be reserved via tel.: 262052-1 or via email: billetterie@neimenster.lu.

Hidden Orchestra is an imagined orchestra created by composer and producer Joe Acheson, currently based in Brighton, United Kingdom. The releases feature a wide variety of guest musicians from different musical backgrounds, recorded separately and combined by Joe in his studio to create an "imaginary orchestra" that simply does not exist. The music features dark orchestral textures, with field recordings, bass and layers of drums and percussion.

Tickets cost €22 (reduced: €9) or €1.50 with a Kulturpass and can be reserved via tel.: 262052-1 or via email: billetterie@neimenster.lu.
