On Friday 20 November 2015 at 19:30, the Brasserie Le Neumünster in Luxembourg-Grund will host an Estonian Jazz Concert, organised by Luxembourgish Estonian Society, featuring Carrot Lights.
Carrot Lights is a trio from Estonia that combines styles of jazz, pop and free improvisation. The members of the band are very active in the Estonian music scene with different bands and collectives.
Joel-Rasmus Remmel (piano) and Kaspar Kalluste (drums) have received the Young Talent Jazz Award and are the most wanted young players in Estonia at the very moment. They have also played with different musicians from abroad including Kurt Elling, Jussi Kannaste, etc.
Paula Mustikas aka Laura Remmel (voice) has released three pop albums and a jazz standard album, which was given out in Japan last spring. At the moment she has been focusing more on free improvisation, which she has been studying in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and also in Estonia. In that field her collaboration with the Dutch drummer Han Bennink has been very inspirational for both sides. They played as a trio with Jaak Sooäär at the 40th Anniversary of Bimhuis in Amsterdam.
In autumn 2014, Carrot Lights presented their debut album 'Carrot Lights', throwing album presentation parties in Tallinn at the Estonian Maritime Museum and also in Tartu at the IDeejazz festival.
Carrot Lights will be performing also in Paris and Marseille in France after the concert in Luxembourg, and in Brussels in Belgium before Luxembourg.
