On Thursday 6 October 2016, Luxembourg's House of Entrepreneurship was inaugurated in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

Located in front of the Chamber of Commerce, and direct neighbour of the House of Finance, the new home of entrepreneurship has been given the mandate to operate as a one-stop shop offering customised consulting assistance to all project developers wishing to embark on the adventure of creating a business, as well as all the already active entrepreneurs wishing to develop or sell their business.

The House of Entrepreneurship was unveiled in the presence of Francine Closener, Luxembourg's Secretary of State for the Economy, Michel Wurth, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Carlo Thelen, CEO of the Chambre de Commerce and numerous associated public and private representatives.

While the keys of the new "House of Entrepreneurship - One-Stop Shop" were officially handed over last Friday in the festivities of the 175th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce, the new entity was unveiled to the press on Thursday 6 October.

The range of services offered thus covers all stages of a business life cycle. Michel Wurth, President of the Chamber of Commerce, summarised the vision of the "House of Entrepreneurship - One-Stop Shop" explaining that "the aim of this new platform was to offer entrepreneurs the opportunity to find under one roof all information and to receive all necessary permits for starting and developing their business." The "House of Entrepreneurship" is pursuing a double objective of promoting entrepreneurship and simplification of administrative procedures related to entrepreneurship.

Carlo Thelen, CEO of the Chamber of Commerce, then explained the origins of the new one-stop recalling that the original idea came from the Chamber of Commerce when it found that its "business area" information centre was facing a growing number of customers and might not be able to adequately respond to business needs. Written requests for information to the "Business area" have more than doubled in five years (from 5,049 in 2011 to 10,827 in 2015). In 2015 alone, over 2,000 customers were received by appointment and some 7,600 phone calls have been processed.
