On Friday 5 November 2021, the day after the Festival of Lights, Diwali, the Indian Business Chamber of Luxembourg (IBCL) held a board meeting at which it decided to hold a series of kick-start events over the coming months to convey "business as usual" with a focus on physical events, albeit with a changed, sporting-related format.
Over the next three months, the IBCL activities will see themed events to reflect the valuable lessons of the last 18 months, i.e. that a healthy, fulfilling life comes first. The board also agreed that engaging activities to create immersive experiences shall also be explored.
Speaking to Chronicle.lu, Aditya Sharma, IBCL President, said "The deep deliberations on business issues shall be interspersed with Bowling, Badminton, Yoga or Authentic India Food, Beer or Music to widen the networking experience. Tour of plants shall also be organised to widen the knowledge horizon. Exclusive round-tables for CEOs and operational management shall be held to allow effective discussions within a focused group. A deeper collaboration with the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, FEDIL and fellow chambers shall follow."
Aditya continued "The overall orientation shall be spreading information in an engaging way. Exciting set of events shall allow members to develop a deeper level of partnership, essential to build trust, while learning something new at each turn."
To support the above initiatives, the IBCL is gearing up with structural reforms.
The IBCL has a new and energetic board in place. Aditya Sharma, Director of Strategy and SVP Asia at Boson Energy, has taken over the presidency from the founder, Sudhir K Kohli, who has been appointed the role of Chairman Emeritus. Vijay Goyal, EVP Arcelor Mittal, shall continue to strengthen IBCL as Vice President. The new faces on the Board are Olivier Lefevre, Partner at Deloitte; Ajay Bali, Associate Partner at EY, and Bernard Dedenbach, Partner and Founder of BD Associates SA. Together they represent a dynamic force to meet the challenges of post-COVID times.
The IBCL website is also undergoing a revamp: it shall have new features to allow digital payment, access to additional materials online including newsletters and high-quality photos of the last ten years allowing to preserve special moments from the last ten years. All these updates are planned to be put in place by Q1 2022.
Within the next six weeks, the first kick-start event held under the new IBCL board is expected to be organised. For details, see www.ibcl.lu
