On Friday 6 May 2022, Luxembourg's Ministry of Digitalisation announced that the travelling virtual reality (VR) exhibition of the Luxembourg pavilion at the Dubai World Expo has completed its tour in Luxembourg.
From November 2021 to April 2022, the stand of the Ministry of Digitalisation stopped at 23 locations in the Grand Duchy and welcomed 1,672 visitors. Visitors were able to take advantage of the benefits of new technologies by donning a virtual reality headset and discover the Luxembourg pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai as if they were there.
This decentralised initiative of the Ministry of Digitalisation guaranteed access to all citizens who wished to have the unique experience of visiting the Luxembourg pavilion in Dubai in Luxembourg. It has combined digital inclusion and the integration of new technologies by facilitating access, reducing physical barriers and connecting everyone virtually to this global event, while allowing the population to benefit from the advantages offered by new technologies.
Although finished, this immersive experience can be relived at any time thanks to the “Luxembourg Pavilion Dubai 2020” mobile application, which is an adaptation of the film in virtual reality. The application is available in Luxembourgish, French and English and can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
