Luxembourg non-profit Women in Digital Empowerment (WIDE) has announced that it is organising a conference on "Open Data for Impact" on Tuesday 29 June 2021 from 17:00 to 19:00; participants can attend the conference either online or in-person at Neumünster Abbey in Luxembourg-Grund.

As part of its Erasmus+ Project "Public Makers" focusing on Open Data, WIDE will share its new resources for Open Data education and access. This hybrid event will bring together major stakeholders and experts in the field, including:

  • Francis Kaell, who is in charge of the Open Data Division of the Luxembourg government's Information and Press Service;
  • Dr Slim Turki, Senior Researcher at the Luxembourg Institute of Science & Technology (LIST);
  • Imeshi Weerasinghe, CEO and co-founder of WEO (optimising water resource management using data from space and AI to help build a more sustainable future for all);
  • Julia Zagrodzka, Project Assistant at the Publications Office of the European Union; 
  • Rusne Sileryte, CTO and co-founder of geoFluxus (winner of EU datathon 2020 - Green Deal challenge);
  • Ralph Marschall, Digitalisation Project Manager at the National Library of Luxembourg (BNL).

Anyone wishing to learn more about how Open Data can be used to empower youth and citizens to create societal change is invited to join this conference.
