
The first LuxBlockHackathon will be held on 8 and 9 May 2017 at SnT Luxembourg for a 36-hour event during which teams have to build an innovative blockchain-based solution to a challenge affecting the Luxembourg financial industry for a top prize of 1.5 million Stellar Lumens from Stellar.org.
Organised by Melufina, a blockchain Think tank created by Radu State (SnT), Evan Schwartz (Ripple) & Frank Roessig (Telindus). Over ten teams with 50+ blockchain coders are coming to Luxembourg from San Francisco, Kiev, London, Paris, Lisbon, Rotterdam, Cologne and brydon to work with Stellar, Hyperledger, Ethreum, Monero.
The hackers will have the option to work-off secured nodes provided as part of the InfraChain initiative by various players, notably Telindus.
The jury is composed of Gerard Hoffmann, from Telindus, Marco Houwen, from InfraChain, David Mazieres, of Stanford University, Melinda Roylett from Paypal, Radu State, of SnT and Evan Schwartz, Ripple.
The hack will be followed by diverse blockchain demos at which attendees will participate in effecting live blockchain transactions.
