The match will be played as part of their preparations for the UEFA Nations League 2022-23 that includes group games being played in June and in September 2022 against Turkey, Lithuania and the Faroe Islands.

Luxembourg's last match at the stadium was on 14 November 2021 against the Republic of Ireland in their final World Cup qualifier, when the visitors won 3-0.

The time of the match is yet to be confirmed.

Luxembourg may also arrange second friendly match for the Red Devils during the international window; however, no details have yet been confirmed.

Ian Baraclough, Northern Ireland's manager, said "This will be a welcome test for the team and a good way to kick off our year. We know this Luxembourg side can cause problems and we will be preparing thoroughly to make sure we're at our very best."
