On Thursday 12 August 2021, CS Fola Esch secured a vital 4-2 aggregate win over Linfield of Northern Ireland as they won in a dramatic finale in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa Conference League.

Last Tuesday, the two sides had played at Windsor Park in Belfast and had come away with a deserved 2-1 away win. And yesterday evening's game was played at the Stade Josy Barthel in Luxembourg-ville in which the second leg's result was not settled until the third minute of injury time at the end of the second half when the home team scored from a penalty in the 3rd minute of time added on to secure a 2-1 win on the night, 4-2 on aggregate.

The match remained scoreless until 20 minutes before the end of normal time when Correia Mendes scored for Fola to go into the lead. The score stayed like this until the last minutes of normal time when Linfield equalised thanks to a goal by Roscoe-Byrne; however, it was Rodrigo Parreira who scored the winner at the death, through a penalty.

It was a frantic game at times, with the visitors having 10 shots on target against 6 from the home side; Fola had 4 players booked (the referee blew his whistle for no less than 21 fouls), with another 3 from the visitors.

The only change in CS Fola's line-up was Boutrif coming in for Diallo.

CS Fola: Emmanuel Cabral (GK), Ouasseiro, Klein (c), Gilson Delgado, Grisez, Boutrif, Diogo Pimentel, Bruno Frere, Bensi, Mustofic, Omosanya.

CS Fola now progress to the UEFA Europa Conference League draw on 27 August, with group matches to be played on 16 & 30 September, 21 October, 4 & 25 November, 9 December, followed by the knock-out draw on 13 December.
