On Thursday 29 July 2021, Fola Esch won through to the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round after winning 1-0 at home to Shakhtyor of Belarus, resulting in a 3-1 aggregate score, having won 2-1 away to the same opposition last week.

Gilson Delgado scored the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute, from a corner by Bensi and assisted by Klein. The home side had three shots on target through the match, compared to five from the visitors, the same numbers applicable for yellow cards brandished by the referee in what was a niggly game.

Fola Esch: Emmanuel Cabral (GK), Ouassiero, Klein, Gilson Delgado, Grisez, Diogo Pimentel, Mustafic, Bruno Frere, Dialio, Ososanya, Bensi.

In the third round next week, Fola Esch play against Linfield of Northern Ireland, with the first leg on Tuesday 3 August away.

On the same evening, F91 Differdange played at the Aviva stadium in Dublin, away to Bohemians who had won 1-0 away in their first leg in the Grand Duchy. Ireland's national stadium had a full (limited) capacity of 8,000 people in the crowd. F91 were no match for the Irish side who ran out 3-0 winners on the evening, 4-0 on aggregate. Rob Corwall scored for the home side on 35 minutes, when he headed the ball into the goal straight from a free kick, to take a 1-0 lead into half-time, with Georgie Kelly - currently the leading scorer in the League of Ireland this season - scoring twice, mid-way through the second half, for the 3-0 win on the evening. The Luxembourg team started to exert themselves on the game in the 2rd quarter, but their efforts came to nothing, with just one shot from Dejvid Sinani and another from Samir Hadji which were both easily saved by Bohemians' goalkeeper, James Talbot.

Bohemians - who join fellow Irish sides Dundalk and Shamrock rovers in the 3rd qualifying round - progress to play PAOK in the next round, and will host the side from Thessaloniki in Greece, to Dublin on Tuesday next week for the first-leg match.
