In the UEFA Champions League, first qualifying round first-leg match played at the Stade Emile Mayrisch on Tuesday evening, Fola Esch came from two goals down to draw with Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar. 

The visitors scored mid-way through the first half with a goal from Carralero on 26 minutes and went into half-time 0-1 up. 

At half-time, the home team made a triple substitution in order to change the way the team was playing and to try to rescue the game. The visitors doubled their lead just five minutes into the second half, thanks to a goal by Britto on 50 minutes.

The home side pushed for a goal and were rewarded 15 minutes later with a goal from Bensi on 65 minutes, with team-mate Ahmetxheka scoring just one minute later to level the score at 2-2 which stayed like that until the final whistle.

The home side had a total of 13 attempts on goal (with the visitors totalling eight), but just five of which were on target.

The referee, Michal Ocenas from Slovakia, brandished the yellow card a total of six time, three for each team.

The second leg is scheduled for next Tuesday, 13 July 2021.
