Luxembourg-based startup Up Luxembourg has announced that it will soon launch its digital meal vouchers service.

This news follows the presentation by Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance on 9 June 2023 of a draft law proposing a legal framework for digitising the meal voucher system in the Grand Duchy.

Incorporated in May 2023 (and hosted at the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT)), Up Luxembourg is now set to follow in the footsteps of its mother company Monizze, which has been active in the Belgian fintech and HRtech ecosystem since 2011, by launching its own digital meal vouchers service.

Up Luxembourg facilitates the use of meal vouchers by digitising them, thus reducing the administrative management of employee benefits via a single card and platform. The startup has emphasised that it will also strive to guarantee the best quality/price ratio on the market for all companies, regardless of their size.

"With Up Luxembourg, we are proud and motivated to energise a market which is in the hands of a duopoly. We congratulate the Luxembourg Ministry of Finance on implementing this reform to modernise and open up this market. Our ambition is to offer an ever more efficient, cost-effective, simple, secure and innovative solution. I'm delighted to have taken the helm of Up Luxembourg, bringing the benefits of this cutting-edge HRTech to every employer, merchant, partner and employee in the Grand Duchy," explained Alicia Brun, Country Manager of Up Luxembourg.

The pilot is set to launch in September 2023.
