On Wednesday 14 December 2022, the Government Council (Luxembourg's cabinet) decided to appoint Nima Ahmadzadeh as the new Director of Luxembourg's Inspectorate of Finance (Inspection Générale des Finances - IGF), effective 1 January 2023.
Nima Ahmadzadeh holds a master's degree in economics from the London School of Economics (LSE) and joined Luxembourg's Ministry of Finance in 2012, where he most recently served as Director of Economic and Budgetary Affairs.
Commenting on this appointment, Luxembourg's Minister of Finance, Yuriko Backes, said: "I would like to congratulate Nima Ahmadzadeh on his appointment as head of this key administration for the functioning of the state. He brings all the necessary skills in a difficult context for our public finances and I am confident that he will continue the modernisation work started by his predecessors. I thank Marc Vanolst for having zealously and diligently conducted the affairs of the IGF during the interim phase."
