Building on the success of last year’s event, the 2017 FinTech Awards Luxembourg are now open for applications from start-ups who will compete for prizes designed to give them a leg-up, including a €50,000 grant.
Coordinated by Digital Lëtzebuerg, the ICT Cluster, KPMG Luxembourg, the LHoFT, LuxInnovation and Maison Moderne, the applications window is open until 1 May.
From the applicants, fifteen start-ups will be selected to go through to the Competition Day in June, where they will be whittled down to seven finalists competing for three major awards. The winners will be announced on the day at an awards ceremony and after-party at the KPMG beach.
Prizes include €50,000, sponsored by Digital Lëtzebuerg, four months of hosting at the Technoport, a trip to Silicon Valley, and a one-year membership of the KPMG Entrepreneurship Hub, the Khube.

Georges Bock, KPMG Head of Tax and a founding partner of the awards, said he is looking forward to seeing what this year has to offer.
“We were bowled over by the success of last year’s awards — winners like Governance.io went on to secure €2m in funding and bag several new clients among the banks and asset managers present at the awards ceremony. Since the first edition, Luxembourg has made great headway in the FinTech space, not least by opening a dedicated FinTech platform, the Luxembourg House of Fintech (the LHoFT). This organisation will join us and our partners in organising the awards this year. With their help, we expect to see even more FinTech success stories emerge amongst our future winners.”
