Action adventure, comedy; 99 mins; 12+.
Four childhood friends living in and around Buffalo, New York, are going through a midlife crisis... Doug McCallister (Jack Black) is frustrated producing wedding videos, while Ronald Griffin Jr. (Paul Rudd) left for Los Angeles where he failed to make it as an actor. It's Doug's birthday and his friends surprise him, including Kenny Trent (Steve Zahn) and Claire Simons (Thandiwe Newton), and they rekindle old memories by watching a horror film they made when in school.
This re-ignites a passion for making (horror) films and the four friends set out for Brazil in the belief they have the rights to the Anaconda franchise - the 1997 original starred Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, Jon Voigt and Owen Wilson.
The make contact with Santiago Braga (Selton Mello) who has a pet anaconda and set off up the Amazon on board a boat skippered by Ana Almeida (Daniela Melchior) who, unknown to the others, is being pursued by gunmen.
They start filming and encounter some misfortune, before a real giant anaconda shows up, resulting in the need to re-write scenes and leading them into a life-or-death situation.
A rollercoaster of a ride, with thrills and scares in equal doses while trying to run through the jungle. And giant snakes...
