On Monday evening, Film Fund Luxembourg celebrated its 25th anniversary at Utopolis in Kirchberg in the presence of HRH Grand Duke Henri and Prime Minister Xavier Bettel.
The evening comprised speeches from Xavier Bettel in his role as Minister for Media and Communications, as well as from Guy Daleiden, Director at Film Fund Luxembourg. The invited audience was treated to a fascinating montage of clips of various films produced and co-produced in Luxembourg over the past 25 years, spanning the time from when international B-movies were shot here to nowadays when quality has become more and more important - shown when Luxembourg's Zeilt Productions won an Oscar 2 years ago for its animated short film "Mr Hublot".
With the audience comprising represntatives of many of those involved in the film production industry in Luxembourg, as well as a number of government ministers past and present, plus VIPs, Actress Désirée Nosbusch and film director Andy Bausch addressed the audience, as did comedian Serge Tonnar and Gilles Corbi - both live and on screen. Désirée Nosbusch presented Andy Bausch with a personalised baseball cap on the occasion, and also gave one to Grand Duke Henri and to PB Xavier Bettel, with a 25th anniversary logo stitched on the front. The spectacle also included testimonials from many abroad who have worked with Film Fund Luxembourg over the years.
After the speeches and screenings, the attendees retired to enjoy a reception at which Grand Duke Henri and Prime Minister Bettel helped cut the first slices of the birthday cake.
