Film Fund Luxembourg has announced that Luxembourg co-production Six Days in Spring picked up two awards at the 73rd San Sebastián Film Festival, which took place from Friday 19 to Saturday 27 September 2025, in San Sebastián (Donostia) in the Basque Country, Spain.

The feature film, co-produced by Samsa Film (Jani Thiltges), was recognised with two of the festival’s main awards: the Silver Shell for Best Director and the Jury Prize for Best Screenplay.

Directed by award-winning Belgian filmmaker Joachim Lafosse, Six Days in Spring (Six jours ce printemps-là) is a French-speaking co-production between France, Belgium and Luxembourg. Described as an intense family drama, partially inspired by autobiographical memories, it is set on the French Riviera and explores the fragile bonds within a family. 

The feature film marks the fourth collaboration between Lafosse and Samsa Film and the fifth film by the director supported by Film Fund Luxembourg, which said: “This double success continues the international achievements of Luxembourg cinema in recent years, once again confirming its vitality and recognition on the global stage.”

Alongside young Luxembourgish actor Jules Waringo in a major role, the Luxembourg team of the film includes Brigitte Kerger (Production Manager), Julietta Fernandez (Chief Set Designer), Alain Goniva (Sound Engineer), Virginia Ferreira (Head Costume Designer), Stéphane Thiry (Key Grip), Barbara Prati (Props Manager), Jessica Oliveira (First Assistant Set Designer), Christophe Vincent (Unit Manager) and Gil Galvao (VFX Supervisor).
