
Film Fund Luxembourg has announced the selection of three Luxembourg co-productions for the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival, which will be held in New York from 4 to 15 June 2025.
According to Film Fund Luxembourg, this triple selection demonstrates the vitality and growing influence of the Luxembourg audiovisual sector on the international scene.
Among the selected films is Re-Creation, directed by Irish filmmaker Jim Sheridan, which will be presented in the "Narrative Spotlight" section. This section highlights powerful and promising narrative works. The film, co-produced in Luxembourg by Fabrizio Maltese (Joli Rideau Media) in partnership with Ireland, explores personal recovery after tragedy. It stars Luxembourg actress Vicky Krieps in the lead role, accompanied by Gilbert K. Johnston, Elena Spautz, Claire Johnston-Cauldwell, Maja Jurić and Konstantin Rommelfangen.
The production involved an experienced Luxembourg team, including Carlo Thiel (camera), Christina Schaffer (set design), Carlo Thoss (sound), Magdalena Labuz (costumes), Jasmine Schmit (makeup), Elly Verduyckt (script supervisor), Philippe Manderscheid (first assistant camera), Solveig Harper (production manager), Yannis Meys (first assistant director), Gilbert Degrand (electrician), Pascal Charlier (stagehand), Daniel Besnard (props master) and Mike Roberts (stage manager). Post-production work was handled by Espera Productions, L’Imagerie Studios and Philophon Studios.
Two other Luxembourg co-productions are in official competition in the "International Narrative Competition" section. The first, The Wolf, the Fox and the Leopard, is directed by Dutch director David Verbeek and co-produced by Alexandra Hoesdorff and Désirée Nosbusch (Deal Productions). It is an international co-production between Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Ireland, Croatia and Taiwan. The film also features several Luxembourg actresses, including Marie Jung, Gintare Parulyte and Myriam Gracia (supporting roles). The Luxembourg technical team includes Katja Reinert (makeup), Jean-François Roqueplo (camera), Vitalius Kiselius (lighting) and Roxanne Peguet (script supervisor).
The third film, Reflet dans un diamant mort (Reflection in a Dead Diamond), is a thriller co-directed by the French duo Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani. Co-produced by Gilles Chanial (Les Films Fauves) with Belgium, Italy, and France, this film offers a dive into a mysterious and tense world. It brings together several Luxembourg talents, including actresses Céline Camara, Sophie Mousel and Sylvia Camarda, as well as actor Hervé Sogne. The Luxembourg technical team includes Céline Bodson (sound), Corentin Geisen (machinery), Audrey Dhyvert (set design), Cindy Santos (script supervisor) and Raoul Nadalet (special effects). The film competed at the Luxembourg City Film Festival in March and will be released in Luxembourg in July.
