The Film Fund Luxembourg has announced that the Grand Duchy's film industry will be represented at various international film festivals in the coming months.

A total of fifteen Luxembourgish co-productions feature on the programmes of a number of festivals being held in September and October in Toronto, Quebec and Alberta (Canada), London (UK), San Sebastian (Spain), Namur (Belgium) and Venice (Italy).

 

Toronto International Film Festival (5 - 15 Sept. 2019):

Québec City Film Festival (12 - 21 Sept. 2019):

  • Escapada by Sarah Hirtt (Samsa Film)

Raindance Film Festival (London, 18 - 29 Sept. 2019):

Venice International Film Festival (28 Aug. to 7 Sept. 2019):

  • Sublimation by Karolina Markiewicz & Pascal Piron

The Luxembourg co-productions "The Swallows of Kabul" and "Ayahuasca - Kosmik Journey" recently received awards at the Festival du Film Francophone d'Angoulême and the Guanajuato International Film Festival in Mexico, respectively. The former won "Best Feature Film" (Valois de diamant) and "Best Music" whilst the latter received the "Best VR Film" award.
