Two Luxembourg co-productions, "Chambre 212" and "Viendra le feu (O que arde)", have received awards at the 72nd edition of the Cannes International Film Festival.

In the "Un certain regard" official selection, the film festival rewarded two of the three competing Luxembourg co-productions.

The feature film "Chambre 212", directed by Christophe Honoré and co-produced by Lilian Eche and Christel Henon (Bidibul Productions), won the Best Actress Award for Chiara Mastroianni, whilst another feature film "Viendra le feu", directed by Oliver Laxe and coproduced by Donato Rotunno (Tarantula Luxembourg), won the jury prize.

Eighteen films were competing in the official selection of "Un certain regard", the jury of which was composed of Nadine Labaki (director, actress and president of the Jury, Lebanon), Marina Fois (actress, France), Nurhan Sekerci-Porst (producer, Germany ), Lisandro Alonso (director, Argentina) and Lukas Dhont (director, Belgium).

As a reminder, four co-productions represented Luxembourg in Cannes: "Chambre 212", "Viendra le feu" and "Les hirondelles de Kaboul" (Melusine Productions, Stéphan Roelants) in the "Un certain regard" selection, as well as "The Orphanage" (Samsa Film, Jani Thiltges) in the "Directors' Fortnight" selection.
