This year, the City of Luxembourg will celebrate the 20th edition of the "Fête de la Musique", offering amateur and professional musicians the opportunity to perform free live concerts in public; these festivities will take place across the capital on Friday 19 June 2020.

In this context, the City of Luxembourg has informed restaurateur and cafe owners, associations, clubs and musicians interested in participating and making their services available to the public at Fête de la Musique to send their participation request via an application form by 15 March 2020 at the latest. After this deadline, applications and projects will be analysed and a programme drawn up.

The initiatives selected by the City of Luxembourg will receive financial support of €500 per group of musicians (fixed costs), to which €50 per musician is added, as well as logistical support for initiatives in public space.

By implementing this new approach and a revised concept for the Fête de la Musique, the City of Luxembourg has several objectives, among which is to actively integrate merchants, clubs and musicians in the process of designing the event and to receive recognition if their application is accepted. In addition, the City of Luxembourg has stated that it wishes to offer visitors a rich and varied programme both in terms of music genres, places and atmosphere.
