Ministers of the Luxembourg government today attended a council meeting to discuss the subject of international climate financing (FCI).

Luxembourg's total commitment to the FCI will be €120 million from 2014 to 2020, €5 million of which will represent an annual contribution to the Green Climate Fund. Other expenses will be divided between mitigation, adaptation and REDD+ (forestation, reforestation) measures, or will be dedicated to other multilateral funds projects.

The Comité Interministériel de Gestion du Fonds Climat et Energie is currently developing selective criteria for the intervention of the Fonds in the FCI, by establishing funding through activities, sectors and countries, paying particular attention to partner countries.
