Natural gas consumption;
On Thursday 3 August 2023, Luxembourg's Ministry of Energy and Spatial Planning published a new report on efforts to reduce natural gas consumption in Luxembourg.
In July 2023, the reduction in natural gas consumption corresponded to approximately 34% compared to the reference period of the years 2017 to 2022.
This is on the way to achieving the objective of reducing the natural gas demand of EU Member States; the one-year extension of the measure aimed at the voluntary 15% reduction in demand for natural gas was decided at European level in order to prepare for next winter and guarantee security of supply across the EU.
